Connection, Trust, and Intimacy – Let’s begin the conversation that brings you closer

Professional Couples Therapy in Melbourne or Online

As a couple’s therapist, I support couples in overcoming communication breakdowns, rebuilding trust, and increasing connection. Whether you’re facing frequent conflict, dealing with infidelity, experiencing sexual function concerns, or have a mismatch in libido – you’re not alone.

Let’s work together to bring compassion, connection, understanding and intimacy back into your relationship.

Do any of these feel familiar?

-          You’re arguing more than ever – even about small things

-          You feel unheard, unseen, or emotionally distance

-          There’s been a breach of trust and you’re unsure what’s next

-          Sexual intimacy has faded, and you’re drifting apart

-          Thinking monogamy isn’t the right fit for you

You don’t have to navigate this alone. Couples therapy can help you rediscover the foundation that brought you together and overcome challenges.

How couples therapy with Imogen can help you:

-          By speaking openly without escalating into arguments

-          Rebuilding emotional, physical and sexual intimacy

-          Setting healthy boundaries and understanding each other’s needs

-          Support you to feel like a team again – connected, safe and valued

-          Understanding your sexual desires and living shame-free

-          Navigating and overcoming differences

-          Opening up a relationship in a respectful and healthy way

I use evidence-based approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Gottman Method to help couples repair and thrive. I am a polyamorous affirming therapist, with experience working with a diverse range of relationship styles.

 FAQs

  • After the initial session together, your second session will be attended individually. The remaining sessions will be joint, however, individual check ins can be part of the process if helpful.

  • It’s very common for one person to feel unsure about therapy! In our initial phone call and sessions, I will ensure to create a safe space for both perspectives. If you have any major concerns about therapy, we can discuss this together.

  • Absolutely. Your privacy and trust are at the core of my work. You can find out more information about this on my consent and rights and responsibilities forms.

  • Absolutely not! A lot of couples attend therapy together as a form of prevention. You can use this space to better understand yourselves, your relationship dynamic, your personal history, and plan for future.

  • As a polyamorous affirming therapist, I believe that everyone has the right to be in the relationship structure that feels right for them. If monogamy is not your thing but you’re still facing relationship difficulties, you’re planning to open your relationship, or there’s been infidelity – relationship therapy (couples therapy) is the right space for you.
